Set on five acres within a long-established equestrian neighborhood, this custom home offers a young family a private, expansive desert setting. The project became an exploration of how to balance refined desert architecture with the realities of everyday family living.

The home is carefully oriented around its surroundings - the rear of the property opens to the rugged terrain of Pima Canyon, while the front captures sweeping views of the Tucson Mountains, city lights, and layered desert sunsets. Each primary space was positioned to engage a distinct view corridor, creating a strong connection between interior spaces and the Sonoran landscape.

The architectural language draws from traditional desert forms—smooth plaster walls, articulated massing, and deeply recessed openings—paired with warm wood detailing and expansive steel-framed glazing. Interiors are intentionally restrained and textural, allowing natural light, material contrast, and the surrounding landscape to define the experience of the home.

Landscape extends the architecture into the site, integrating native plantings with a series of outdoor living spaces that support both relaxation and activity. In addition to a resort-style pool and outdoor entertaining areas, the property includes a pickleball court and a dedicated soccer field—amenities that reflect the family’s lifestyle and make full use of the generous acreage.
